Abstract
642,112. Thermionic valves. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd. Feb. 14, 1947, No. 4309. [Class 39 (i)] A triode-hexode or -heptode frequency-changer has the cathode 12 of the triode section electrically separate from the cathode 6 of the mixer section, both cathodes being connected by separate leads to the same pin 18 in the base. Cathode 6 is con. nected directly by lead 19, and cathode 12 via strap 16 and support rod 17. The arrangement is stated to reduce the impedance causing coupling between the two sections when they have a common cathode. A common heater, or separate parallel heaters, may be used. One or more of the triode grid supports may be extensions of corresponding supports for grid 8 of the mixer.
