643,946. Valve amplifying circuits. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL, Ltd. June 15, 1948, No. 16082. Convention date, June 18, 1947. [Class 40 (v)] The damping of the input circuit 5, Fig. 1, of a grounded grid amplifier 1 is reduced by a reaction condenser 7 between anode and cathode, while self oscillation is prevented by damping the output circuit 6 by coupling it to the input of a similar stage 10, having output terminals 17. In Fig. 3, the tube 34 is a secondary emission tube and the auxiliary cathode 18 is connected for high-frequencies to the grounded grid. The resistive and reactive parts 24, 23 of the reaction path may be separately adjusted, and the output circuit 6 is damped by being coupled to the input of a further stage (not shown). In a further modification (Fig. 4, not shown), the input, output and reaction circuits are each in the form of a Lecher system of three concentric conductors with adjustable bridges to form impedance transformers.
