641,441. Claw clutches; operating ratchet clutches. AMI, Inc. July 31, 1947, No. 20872. Convention date, May 10, 1946. [Class 80(ii)] '[Also in Group XXXVIII] In a magazine, gramophone clutches are provided to disconnect the drive in the event of the mechanism jamming and to connect and disconnect shafts controlling the various automatic operations. The overload clutch, Figs. 3 and 19, comprises a pulley 77 keyed to a shaft 78 by means of a pawl 302 pivoted at a point 304 and having a tapered key 306 which is held in a similarly tapered keyway 308 in the shaft 78 by friction at the end of the pawl 302 by the pressure of a pin 312 by a spring 314 whose pressure is adjusted by means of a screw 316. The clutch remains disengaged after overload until manually reset. The clutches 84 86, 94, Fig. 4, are operated by interceptot pins 216, 208, 210, respectively, which trip the claw at appropriate periods of the automatic cycle.
