Abstract

640,525. Broaching. OILGEAR CO. Aug. 5, 1947, No. 21266. Convention date, Aug. 2, 1944. [Class 83 (iii)] In a broaching-machine, the work 36 is mounted on a carriage 35 movable upon the surface of a stationary support which is inclined to the path of the broaching-tool 3, so that the carriage is held against a stop while the work is being broached. The tool 3 is fixed to a carriage 2 reciprocated by a hydraulic motor 4 energized by a main pump 7. The carriage 35 is reciprocated by a hydraulic motor 43 energized by an auxiliary pump. The stop consists of two adjustable members 57 arranged on opposite sides of the tool carriage.
