640,137. Transformers. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd., and JONES, K. M. July 23, 1948, No. 19759. [Class 38 (ii)] A method of assembling high-voltage electrical apparatus, e.g. a current transformer, in an air-tight casing, comprises washing out the interior of the casing before assembly with the apparatus with a semi-viscous insulating liquid, assembling the apparatus in the casing, sealing the casing and filling it with the insulating liquid and replacing the insulating liquid with filtered dry air or inert gas which forms the final filling, a small pool of the liquid being left in the bottom of the casing to maintain the filling saturated.
