Abstract

639,472. Reciprocating motors. SANVILLE, F. E. July 9, 1947, No. 18097. [Class 35] In a reciprocating motor with the plunger moved in one direction by spring action, the plunger is slidably carried on a rod for imparting motion to the load and carries one contact of the interrupter, the other contact being carried by the said rod. As shown, the spring 19 has been compressed by the upward movement of the rod 5 which actuates a fuel pump and in expanding lowers the rod until contact 13 on plate 11 spring-connected to the rod 5 engages contact 8 on plate 7 carried by the extension 4 of the plunger 3 whereupon the latter moves upwards carrying rod 5 with it until plate 11 engages adjustable stop 16 and tilts the plate to open the circuit. Spring 17 then assists the plunger to return to its lower position. Engagement of the end 7a of the plate 7 with column 9 prevents turning of the plunger.
