605,888. Mixing-machines. DARLING. G. F. Oct. 16, 1945, No. 27076. Addition to 602,353. [Class 86] The mixing-machine described and claimed in the parent Specification is modified for mounting the driving motor 1 on a tube 6 slidable over a column 7, in which are co-operative electric contacts 12, 13, respectively, which make contact when the tube 6 is depressed against the action of a spring 10 and complete the circuit to drive the motor. The tube 6 may be locked in a selected position on the column 7 by a clamping nut 20 which is threaded on a pin 18 slidable in a slot 17. In an alternative construction the contacts 12 are carried by a plate secured to a vertical rod mounted in the head of the tube 6, and the latter is depressed against the tension of a spring which is attached at one end to the plate and at the opposite end is secured in a housing at the upper end of the column 7.
