Abstract

636,213. Sight-testing apparatus. AUSTRALIAN OPTICAL CO.; Ltd. April 25, 1947, No. 11167. Convention date, Oct. 24, 1941. [Class 97 (i)] A sight-testing apparatus consists of a projector which forms an image of a sighttesting chart on a translucent screen disposed in front of said projector, and a plane mirror which is normal to the axis of the projector, is centred thereon and is located on the side of the screen remote from the projector to reflect the image on the screen to the eyes of a patient. In form shown, the projector 1 and the translucent screen 12 are formed as a single unit, the projector 1 being mounted on a pedestal 3 from which extend horizontal arms 4, 5 on which can slide carriers 8, 9 for the screen 12. The mirror forms a separate unit and is positioned to reflect the image of a sight-testing chart 2 formed on the screen by. the projector 1 to the eyes of a patient placed near the projector.
