Abstract

634.974. Warp and like beams. TEMPLEWOOD ENGINEERING CO., Ltd., and WISBEY, R. B. Feb. 4, 1948, No. 3271. [Class 142 (ii)] The flange of a warp beam, having a screwthreaded bore for adjustment along the screwthreaded end of the beam, is locked by a screwthreaded locking ring attached to the flange by circumferentially spaced screws. A flange 6 has an insert 8b having a screw-threaded bore which engages the threaded end 2 of the beam. A locking ring 9, which also has a threaded bore engaging the beam end 2, is secured to the flange by screws 10. A flange from a wooden beam may be adapted to fit a metal beam having screwed ends by fitting a liner into the original bore of the flange. The liner is threaded to engage the beam end 2 and has a flange provided with tapped holes to engage the screws 10.
