Abstract
633,518. BrassiÞres. READ, G. D. Aug. 13, 1947, No. 22549. [Class 141] A brassiÞre comprises a pair of spaced pouches connected at their lower edges to a band, there being one or more tension straps extending in a generally horizontal direction from the front ends of the shoulder straps towards the opposite pouches and connected directly or indirectly thereto. As shown in Fig. 1, the band 4 has a V-shaped notch 6 and the pouches 1, 2 are also joined by a strip of elastic 7. A single tension strap 11 passes through slits 12 in the shoulder straps and the looped ends are fastened with buckles 13. In the alternative construction shown in Fig. 3, the upper edges of the pouches are formed with a' series of looped tabs 18, 19, through which the ends of the shoulder straps 8 pass. Ribbon ties 21, 22, secured to the shoulder straps 8 or loops 18, are threaded through the loops 19 and tied. In a further construction, a pair of straps is provided, each being threaded through a slit in one of the shoulder straps, passing through a central ring and being secured to the opposite pouch.
