Abstract

633,252. Door catches. MORRIS MOTORS, Ltd., and COOK, R. WELTON-. Feb. 7, 1948, No. 3634. [Class 44] A door catch comprises a pivotal claw-shaped latch member mounted on a rod which by means of a push button is rotatable to disengage the latch from its co-operating striking plate. In the form shown push buttons f, g, on the inside and outside of the door engage cranks d, e, formed on the rod a at an oblique angle to each other. A springs, Fig. 2, carried in a cup t inside each press button prevents rattling. Inward movement of the outside press-button g may be blocked by a barrel lock u. A pin-and-slot device incorporated on the inside button is effective to prevent accidental operation of the button on partial rotation of the button relative to its escutcheon.
