[Class 38(v)] The pivoted armature 4 of an electromagnetic switch is connected by a spring 6 serving both to contact member 9, the spring 6 serving both to bias the armature. away from the electromagnet and also to move over a deadcentre position to give a quick action to the contact member. Fig 1 shows a change-over switch the contact 9 moving between two fixed contacts 11, 10.
