Abstract

612,765. Electromagnetic switches; switch contacts. CONTACTOR SWITCHGEAR, Ltd., and LIWSKI, J. F. June 1, 1946, No. 16720. [Class 38 (v)] The floating armature 11 and the moving contacts of an electromagnetic switch are mounted on a pivoted member A, Fig. 6, which is made of moulded insulating material, the armature being attached to an arm 8 on the member A as shown in Fig. 2 by bolts 12, 13 which pass loosely through holes in the arm 8 and are surrounded by springs 17, 16. The moving contacts are floatingly mounted on fixed pins 26 anchored in compartments 19 in the member A. Each contact is loosely mounted on its pin as shown in Fig. 3 and is retained in position by a spring 27. When the armature is attracted by the magnet 2, the moving contacts engage fixed contacts 22. The member A is pivoted at its ends in brackets 7 extending from the back plate 1 of the switch.
