Abstract
631,977. Bogie frames suspension. SOC. ANON. DES ATELIERS DE SECHERON. May 21, 1947, No. 13628. Convention date, May 21, 1946. [Class 103 (vi)] In a powered bogie, particularly for rail vehicles, two motors 2 secured to a central rigid transverse frame 1 drive the wheel axles through gear and pinion wheels 7, 8, each wheel axle being linked to the frame 1 by a swing-lever 4, and the plate-springs 11 supporting the central frame and the motors are located below the frame and the axle-boxes 5 and within the driving-wheels 3. The transverse frame 1 is made box-like so as to house therein a transverse leaf-spring 9 which supports the main body of the vehicle. In a modification, the single plate spring 11 may be replaced by two springs, one for each axle-box, on each side of the bogie. These springs may be arranged, as shown in Fig. 5, with their centres and inner ends secured to the axle-boxes 5 and frame respectively, and with their outer ends coupled to a rigid arm 14 extending over the axle-box.
