Abstract

631,543. Nuts. RADIO GRAMOPHONE DEVELOPMENT CO., Ltd., and PARKINSON, W. R. Sept. 24, 1947, No. 25962. [Class 89 (i)] [Also in Groups XXVIII and XXXVI] The nut 7, of a screw union for a concentric cable termination 4, is provided with a wall 8 having a circular aperture 10 through which the cable 2 projects, the wall being diametrically cut away at 11 to permit the edgewise passage of a flange 6 on the cable when the sleeve is deflected, Fig. 4. When the sleeve is tilted in the opposite direction the wall rides completely behind the flange and the sleeve can then be screwed into position. To enable the flange to be passed over more easily it is bevelled whereupon the union co-operating surface is also bevelled, Fig. 7 (not shown). A spring clip may be provided on the cable to secure the sleeve against the flange, and the enlargements 11 may be on a chord of the aperture 10.
