Abstract

A device for temporarily sealing a duct 19 during the attachment thereto of a fitting 25 having a bore 26, comprises two or more flexible discs 10 ... 13 of a diameter at least equal to the bore of the duct, means substantially smaller than the bore of the fitting for clamping the discs in spaced coaxial relationship, the discs being capable of flexing to an extent sufficient to enable the discs to pass through the bore of the fitting, and means for withdrawing the discs from the duct after the fitting has been attached thereto. As shown, discs 10. . . 13 of polyethylene are clamped in spaced coaxial relationship on a threaded member 18 to which a wire cable 22 covered with plastic tubing 23 is secured, the free end of the cable being terminated by a nipple.
