973,637. Pipe joints; junction pieces. ANCHOR COUPLING CO. Inc. Sept. 9, 1963 [May 24, 1963], No. 35439/63. Heading F2G. A sight glass fitting for attachment to the end of a flexible hose 13 comprises a sleeve 19 having a projecting skirt 35 and a mounting channel 21 in which is disposed a tubular member 17 of transparent material and extending within the skirt. The latter receives the hose which is gripped on to the member 17 by compressing the skirt crimpingly inwardly. The opposite end of the member 17 is flanged at 23 and held by gaskets 28, 43 compressed by screwing a nut 39 on to the sleeve 19, securing at the same time the flanged end of a conduit 15; alternatively, the member 17 is held by an 0-ring 28<SP>1</SP>, Fig. 3, compressed by a sleeve 47 on to which the flared end of a conduit 15<SP>1</SP> is clamped by a nut 39<SP>1</SP>
