Abstract

631,435. Cabinet bedsteads. BABER, H. DAVIS-, and STACEY, P. Aug. 26, 1947, No. 23611. [Class 52 (ii)] A bedstead, foldable into a cabinet 1, is mounted in relation to the door 3, hinged at 4 to the cabinet, by means of parallel links 6 which are pivoted to the door and are provided with rollers 8 co-operating with guides 9 carried by the bedstead. Guides 10 fixed to the door 3 co-operate with rollers 11 on the ends of the bedstead to prevent its longitudinal displacement, in relation to the door, while it is being spaced parallely from the door by means of the parallel links on opening and shutting the door. The links 6 are tied by a strut 7 and are connected to the cabinet 1 by rods 12 and slotted brackets. The bedstead frame comprises three articulated sections 13, 14, 15 adapted to be folded together and is supported in its bed position with the aid of struts 16, 17. A pivoted frame may replace the door for supporting the folding bedstead, in which case a door may be provided hinged at its side in the usual manner.
