Abstract

930,936. Dog beds. B. F. RUBIEN. May 4, 1962 [May 4, 1961], No. 16276/61. Class 5(2). A dog bed comprises a main frame 1 supporting a fabric bed proper 2 in a horizontal position, a secondary upper frame 3 attached by collapsible stays 4 to the main frame and supporting a fabric side wall extending around a major part of the bed 2, and legs 20-23 pivotally attached to the main frame, the legs being movable between a collapsed position lying along the main frame and an erect position extending downwardly therefrom and each of said stays comprising two portions hinged together, one portion being provided with engagement means adapted to engage with the other portion when the stay is in its collapsed position and in its erected position. Each stay comprises a tubular member 10 and spaced parallel strips 11 at least one of which has detent means 15 engaging the member 10. The legs are coupled together by cross-pieces 24, 25 and spring-biased to the collapsed position, detent means being provided to hold them in their erect position. According to the Provisional Specification the frames 1, 3 may be C-shaped and the stays may comprise a pair of links pivotally connected together.
