Abstract

630,977. Street lamps. SPLINTEX SAFETY GLASS, Ltd., and ROBERTSON, P. G. Nov. 13, 1947, No. 31534/46. [Classes 75(ii) and 75(iv)] [Also in Group XVIII] A globe for a pedestrian - crossing beacon has a neck portion 16 to fit on the top of a column and consists of a tough moulded plastic material, e.g. a methyl methacrylate resin, in two halves 11, 12 united by a circumferential joint 13, 14. The plastic material may be transparent, the interior of the globe being sprayed with light diffusing paint except over an area 20. The latter provides a window through which light may be directed on to the crossing from an electric lamp within the globe and carried by the column. The neck portion 16 may be provided with a circumferential groove 17 adapted to fit a carrier ring on the top of the column.
