Abstract

[Also in Division G5] In a floor or table lamp, a transparent or translucent container 1 holds a liquid in which flakes (11) are circulated by convection currents created by an electric lamp bulb 8 or a candle which also illuminates the flakes. Aluminiumcoated plastic flakes are used in a coloured mixture of propylene and polyethylene glycols, and may be polygonal or animal-shaped. The container base 2 may be of plastics or glass, and comprise stripes or sectors or concentric rings of different colours (including uncoloured and masking rings), or the colours may be painted on to the container base 2 or on to a transparent or translucent disc lying on the base 2. The lamp bulb may be coloured. In large lamps two or more bulbs of different colours may be employed.
