'[Class 46] [Also in Group XXI] A lining tube for a borehole, well or shaft comprises a tube of hardened synthetic plastic material with apertured walls and a metal rei n f o r cement, such as iron, steel, light metal alloy or brass, wholly embedded in the plastic material, whereby electric or magnetic surveying &c. instruments may be used at any part of the borehole &c. As shown, the plastic tube 10 is reinforced by embedded rings 11 spaced from the apertures 12. In place of, or in addition to, the rings 11, longitudinal reinforcing rods may be used; at each end, such rods may project into parts for giving connection to an adjacent tube, such as a pair of diametrically opposed dove-tail projections laterally engaging similar recesses in the adjacent tube. In another form, the reinforcement comprises wire mesh. According to the Provisional Specification the reinforcement may be perforated or slotted.
