Abstract

1406442 Concretes R N SWAMY 3 July 1973 [4 April 1972 (2)] 15329/72 and 15330/72 Heading C1H Reinforced concrete is made from a mix of cement, sand, aggregate, water and strands formed of at least two fibres twisted together and/or individual fibres, the strands and/or fibres being of various lengths and crosssections. Both coarse and fine (e.g. crushed rock, fly ash) aggregates are present as is also a lubricant, e.g. polyethylene oxide. The fibres can be rigid, e.g. steel, or flexible, e.g. glass, mineral, organic or synthetic (nylon). The fibres can be orientated and/or randomly arranged.
