Abstract

A substitute for Portland cement comprises a dry mixture of fly ash and lime in the weight ratio 5-17: 1, the lime content of the mixture being 8-12% by weight, an accelerator, and a dispersing agent for the accelerator. The accelerator may be sodium, calcium or ammonium chloride and the dispersing agent calcium ligno sulphonate. The cement may be used in concrete containing aggregates such as sand, gravel, shale, cinders or manufactured aggregates.
