Abstract
613,747. Catchpits. HUGHES, E. N. July 1,1946. Nos. 19541 and 25324. [Class 33] Gulley or catchpit sections are assembled to form a complete gulley or catchpit and have one or more openings in the walls complementary in adjacent sections. As shown a catchpit is formed of a bottom section 20 two intermediate sections 21 and 22 which have semi-circular apertures formed complementarily in their side walls into which connections of various sections may be fitted, further sections 23 and 24 and finally a gulley cover 32. The connections having an annular recess formed between flanges 34 and 19, Fig. 5, may be of different bore, Figs. 6-8 (not shown), or shape, Figs. 10 and 11 (not shown), or may be blank, Fig. 9 (not shown), and the walls or section are reduced to accommodate the recess. The sections and connections may be jointed by grouting or cement. Gulleys and connections may be arranged on opposite sides of a roadway and interconnected by pipes to discharge into a main drainage line Fig. 1 (not shown).
