972,763. Units for cavity walls. E. WENNSTROM. Feb. 9, 1961 [Feb. 12, 1960], No. 4828/61. Heading E1B. A cavity wall is formed from concrete blocks 2 each having one or two lugs 9, 10 projecting from one side, the blocks being built to form the leaves 6, 7 of the wall with the lugs overlapping each other and spaced from the inner surface of the opposite leaf. As shown each block is provided with two lugs, each extending over half the breadth of the blocks, or in an embodiment is disclosed a block having a single lug extending over the full breadth of the block. The blocks in each leaf may be in staggered bond or laid exactly on top of each other and the blocks in the two leaves are staggered or are exactly opposite each other.
