Abstract
608,619. Concrete pipes; joints. SOC. CONTINENTALE ET COLONIALE DE CONSTRUCTION, SOC. ANON. Oct. 19, 1945, No. 27573. Convention date, March 25, 1942. [Classes 99 (i) and 99 (ii)] One or both ends of a concrete pipe are provided with an external shoulder 7, a helical wire reinforcement 6 is applied so that its end or ends abut against the shoulder or shoulders, and an outer covering 8 of concrete is applied so as to be flush with the shoulders. A caulked sleeve or socket joint 10 is made against the shoulder. The shoulder may be recessed to receive a coiled fine steel wire 14 covered with concrete 13 or asphalt and concrete. Tho concrete 13 may be covered with resinous material containing iron powder or filings.
