[Class 139] [Also in Group XXXVII] A timepiece which incorporates a spring-loaded switch capable of being set in open condition and automatically released at a predetermined time by operation of the movement is characterised in that the case is provided with an insulated external projection adapted, on closure of the movement controlled switch, to be connected to a conducting part of the case. The timepiece may be placed on an associated stand having a pair of contacts one of which abuts the insulated projection and the other abuts the conducting case of the timepiece. The pair of contacts are electrically connected in circuit with a warning device, a battery and a switch which can be set so that when the movement controlled switch is closed the warning device is actuated. In the embodiment shown, Fig. 1, two insulated rivets 12 are connected to a metallic strip 10 and project outside the watch case 11. Pivoted to the front plate 14 and electrically connected thereto is a thin L-shaped lever 15 biassed by a spring 46 towards the strip 10. The lever 15 is normally held away from abutting engagement with the strip 10 by a flat spring 18 but is released thereby upon movement of a projection 22 on the hour wheel 21 into a recess 26 in a manually settable alarm wheel 24. If, when this release takes place, the watch is on a stand 32, Fig. 5, with the rivets 12 abutting spring blades 34 and the opposite side of the watch case abutting spring blades 35 (Fig. 4, not shown) and if the switch 39 is closed the circuit from the battery 38 to an electric buzzer or bell 37 will be closed to effect actuation thereof.
