Abstract
628,910. Tractor couplings. FERGUSON Inc., H. June 17, 1947, No. 15908. Convention date, June 28, 1946. [Class 103 (v)] In a tractor hitch the drawbar 14 is normally connected by a pin 19 to a clevis 29A, 30A secured to the tractoframe below the rear axle. The drawbar 14 is supported by a guide-plate 16 having an integral cross-member 18A also connected to the clevis 29A, 30A by pin 19, the guide-plate 16 being itself supported by a pair of struts 43 connected to a mounting 47 above the axle. In order to prevent the drawbar 14 and guide-plate 16 being pulled away from the tractor due to pin 19 not being in place, lugs 60 on the cross-member 18A are arranged to engage in recesses 61 in the lower clevis plate 30A, and the ends of the guideplate 16 to abut under the projections 32B of a plate 32A bolted to the tractor frame, the arrangement being such that the guide-plate 17A cannot be tilted to disengage lugs 60 from recesses 61 so long as the struts 43 are still in place.
