Abstract

589,041. Couplings for road vehicles. SPENCER, C. J. June 14, 1944, No. 11367. [Class 103 (v)] A towing attachment for a tractor comprises extension bars having parallel horizontal and vertical limbs 2, 3 and 4 joined at the base by an integral foot plate 5 and spaced at the top by stays 6. The bars are secured to the tractor axle housing and drawplate by studs and bolts at 17 and 18 respectively. The ends of the horizontal limbs 2 may be curved downwardly. The vertical limbs 3 are formed with aligned holes 7 for the reception of a pin 14 by which a drawplate 8, 9 may be mounted on the bars at various heights. The drawplate is provided with holes for the attachment of the drawn vehicle to left or right as desired.
