[Class. 103 (v)] A coupling attachment for tractors comprises. spaced bars 3, 4 attached to the back axle casing and joined at their rear ends by transverse bars 5, 6 perforated along their lengths by holes 7 to which angle brackets 10, 11 or releasable connections are bolted : to 'receive a vertical towing post 8 perforated along its length with holes 9 to receive the trailer coupling. Holes 12, 13 in the lower bracket 11 have a different pitch to the holes 9 in the post 8 'so that the height of the post may be adjusted by the pitch difference by using a single bolt attachment as necessary. The upper bracket 10 may have similar holes or a slot 14 as shown. The post 8 may be lowered on the brackets to project below the axle casing for use as an abutment for a jack or in a modification the lower cross bar 6 may be disposed below the back axle casing and the apertures in the cross bar are used to locate a spigot member fitted to the head of a standard jack. Holes may be made along the bars 3, 4 by means of which the transverse bars 5, 6 may affixed nearer the back axle. The bars 5, 6 may extend beyond the bars 3, 4 or the towing bar 8 or extension pieces may be used, and a sprag may be hinged to the lower bar 6 which is swung into contact with the ground to hold the tractor when its winch is being used. The releasable connections, Fig, 3, comprise plates'22 bifurcated to receive the post 8 and secured thereto by bolts 24, the plates 22 overlapping the bars 5, 6, a single bolt 23 passing through both the plates and bars. The bolt is secured in position by a sleeve 26, locked to the bolt by a pin 25, another hole 26' being made in the bolt so that the sleeve may be lowered when attaching the post 8 to the ends of the spaced bars 3 or 4.
