Abstract

628,692. Two-part couplings. DORMAN & SMITH, Ltd., and LUND, J. Sept. 10, 1947, No. 24807. [Class 38 (i)] A shutter for a socket comprises an insulating strip 11 mounted centrally on a strip 8 of metal in turn mounted on a cover plate 6 and bent to form a quick-pitched thread. The shutter is urged to the normal position, in which it covers the pin-contact entry holes 7 in the plate 6, by a spring 10 on the support 8 and is moved along and rotated by the latter to uncover the socket contacts when the plug-pins are pressed evenly against it.
