Abstract

624,315. Thermal switches; snap-action switches. THERMEGA, Ltd., and SWINDELLS, V. E. July 1, 1947, No. 17352. [Class 38(v)] In a thermal switch such as that described in Specification 585,590, the moving contact blade 11 and transversely-curved snap-spring 12 are mounted on one side of an insulating tongue 8 extending from the base 3, and the fixed contact 17 is carried on a blade spring 9 mounted against a supporting plate 7 on the other side of the tongue 8. The hook-shaped stop 14 is crimped at 21 so that the stop can be adjusted relative to the fixed contact by expanding or compressing the crimp, and fine adjustment of the fixed contact is provided by a screw 22 in the supporting plate 7 bearing on the spring blade 9. The body of the base 3 is transversely slotted to locate terminal tags, Fig. 3, (not shown). The bimetallic operating strip 6 is heated by a coil 26. Specification 624,316 also is referred to.
