[Class 38 (i)] A contact-mechanism for co-operation at high temperatures with, for example, a heating resistor contact 7, comprises a silver contact 1 enclosed in a ceramic or metal tube 2 and connected to a multi-strand conductor 3, the tube being. supported on a refractory rod 4 in turn mounted on one end of a spring 5, or set of springs, anchored at'the other end to a base 6. The spring is bent through a large angle so that a good contact-pressure is exerted on contact 7. The spring mounting also enables a universal setting of the contact to be obtained.
