Abstract

703,963. Thermal switches. HUBER & CIE AKT.-GES., J. March 13, 1952 [April 10, 1951; Sept. 6, 1951], No. 6514/52. Class 38(5) A curved bimetal disc 3 is arranged in circular metal casing 1, 2 with its edge in contact with the rim of the casing and, in one position, with its centre in engagement with a spring-pressed contact L. The latter is slidable in a metal sleeve 5 insulated from casing part 2. When the bimetal is heated, it moves over to the right, the contact L remaining in engagement with it until it snaps over its central unstable position, so that momentarily it engages a contact L, and a similar contact R simultaneously. Contact R may be rigidly mounted, or either contact L or R may be omitted. It is stated that only 40 per cent of the movement of the bimetal need be slow, the remainder being rapid.
