Abstract
626,338. Non-contact making relays. ELECTRO METHODS, Ltd., and TWEEDY, S. E. Oct. 15, 1947, No. 32601/46. [Class 40 (iv)] In a magnetic amplifier of the saturable reactor type comprising A.C. windings A1-4, self-excitation windings B1-4 fed from the A.C. input through rectifiers R, and D.C. input windings C1-4, the D.C. output being developed in a common load impedance L fed differentially from the A.C. input through the rectifiers R, Fig. 7, or through further rectifiers V, Fig. 8, impedances Z1, '2, which may be resistors, are connected across the pairs of windings B1, 2 and B3, 4 or across the A.C. terminals of the rectifiers R in order to adjust the load current to zero when the D.C. input is zero, while capacitors K1, 2 are connected across the pairs of A.C. windings A1, 2 and A3, 4 in order to maintain that condition in spite of variations of voltage or frequency of the A.C. supply.
