Abstract
626,306. Dry shavers. JAY, M. April 23, 1946, No. 12295. Convention date, Dec. 22, 1941. [Class 131] In a shaving head of the kind having a curved, perforated, cap-shaped shearing plate under which cutting blades rotate on an axis perpendicular to the tangential plane at the apex of the cap, the cutting edges of the blades are parallel to and offset from a line intersecting the axis of rotation of the blades at right angles. As shown the blades n, sliding on pins p in oblique slots m in a blade-carrier j, are urged by cantilever springs q towards the cap a which is clamped between the casing b and a collar c by screws e which also secure, to the casing, a supporting member d forming a bearing for a spindle f of the blade carrier. A driving spindle h of the blade carrier is brought into co-operation with a drive shaft from the motor when the head is attached to the motor casing by a plug and socket joint formed by three spring arms g. A recess is provided in the blade carrier for the evacuation of hair.
