Abstract

859,086. Dry shavers. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. Jan. 14, 1957 [Jan. 17, 1956], No. 1340/57. Class 131. A dry shaver comprises a shear plate 1 universally movable with respect to the axis of rotation of the drive spindle 8 of a co-operating rotary cutter 7, and a rod 9 connecting the cutter to the drive spindle, the rod having a straight central part 10 and oppositely extending ends 12, 13 engaged in recesses 11, 14, 15 in the drive spindle and cutter respectively. The shear plate tilts between stops 2, 3 and is prevented from rotation by flats 4 engaging recesses in a rim 6 of the shear plate, and a cover 19, clamped over the rim 16 of the cutter, centres the rod 9 and the cutter.
