A bar-shaped dry shaver comprises a housing 1 of uniform cross-section and a circular cutter head 2, the head 2 being driven from a motor 4 by means of bevel gears 3. The angle between the axes of the head 2 and motor 4 is at least 45 degrees. The thickness A of the housing is about two thirds of its breadth (B), Fig. 2 (not shown) and a quarter of its maximum length U. The housing also encloses a battery 5.
