Abstract

946,435. Dry shavers. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. May 23, 1960 [May 26, 1959], No. 18103/60. Heading B4B. A dry shaver head includes a mounting member which supports the stationary shear plates 3 for co-operation with rotary cutting members 10 and which includes means for securing the head to the dry shaver, the mounting member consisting of a metal pressing 1 apertured at 2 to receive the shear plates and having secured to its inner surface a body 4 of synthetic material which is apertured at 5 to receive the shear plates and is constructed to hold the shear plates against rotation. The apertures 5 form guides for slight axial movement of the shear plates and the edges 6 of the shear plates have recesses in which projections 7 on the body engage to prevent rotation. The body 4 is preferably of a synthetic resin e.g. nylon, and is secured to the pressing during the moulding process during which pins 8 for securing the head to the dry shaver are embedded in the body. A cover 15, detachably secured on the body so that the shear plates and cutting members cannot fall out of the mounting member, has apertures 16, 17 for the coupling of the cutting members with a drive and for passage of the pins 8 respectively. In a modification, the pins 8 are secured in sockets 9 in the body 4.
