An electric shaver has a housing head and reciprocable cutting blades which are resiliently pressed against a perforated hair-penetrable foil, the foil having two pin-shaped supports secured one to each of opposite longitudinal sides of the foil and dimensional to engage inner surfaces of the housing head, clamping members being provided releasably to clamp the pinshaped supports against said inner surfaces. In one form, the sides of a foil (2), Fig. 3 (not shown) are secured to pin-shaped supports (13) by means of intermediate elements (14) which are releasably engaged with abutments (16), Fig. 1 (not shown), of a wire framework (6) pivotally mounted at one end in a bearing (8) in a housing head (3), Fig. 2 (not shown), and releasably secured at its other end in a bearing support (9) of the housing head. In another form, the sides of a foil 19, Fig. 5, are secured to pin-shaped supports 20 by means of intermediate elements 21, the supports engaging U-shaped recesses 22 of a support member 46, Fig. 4, which is releasably secured to the framework 42 of a housing head 3. The foil is supported at its ends by members (29), Fig. 6 (not shown), including walls (31) each connected by springs (32) or rubber blocks to a cross member (33) seated against an end wall 46<SP>11</SP> of the support member 46. The foil is mounted in the member 46 by means of releasable latches 23. The member 46 is pivoted at one side to the framework 42 by means of pins 17 and is releasably secured at its other side to the framework 42 by means of a locking abutment 28 engaging a complementary member.
