Abstract

517,703. Dry shavers. MOSKOVICS, F.E., and ABRAMS; V. R: Aug; 5, 1938, No. 23215. Convention date, Jan. 15. [Class 131] A dry shaver comprises rotating cutter blades 34 co-operating with a thin perforated dome-shaped shear plate 24, which may be fixed to the casing 14; Fig. 4; or be given ,a gyratory motion relative thereto, Fig.,5. The blades 34 are housed in slots in the rotor 28, which constitutes a flywheel, the slots being provided with springs 40 and curved inclined bases so that the blades are urged outwardly and laterally under centrifugal force. The apertures 26 in the; thin dome - shaped plate' 24 may be round or formedas straight or curved slots,:. and the plate 24 is supported, when unduly. flexed, by a disc 44 and ribs 45 on: the rotor. The fan action' of the blades and the clearance 47 facilitate the ejection of cut hair. Fig. 5, shows an eccentric pin 84 on the rotor engaging a socket 82 on the spherical shear plate 80 which is thus given gyratory motion.
