Abstract
625,980. High-frequency electric filters. COMPAGNIE GENERALE DE TELEGRAPHIE SANS FIL. July 31, 1946, No. 22865. Convention date, June 16, 1943. [Class 40 (viii)] A high-frequency filter in a wave-guide is formed by introducing into the guide a transverse apertured partition, measuring its reflection coefficient and dephasing angle #1, and then introducing a second transverse partition with an aperture adjusted to produce a reflection coefficient equal to that of the first partition, measuring the dephasing angle #2 of this second partition, and separating the two partitions by a distance " d " determined from the expression 2#d/#1 = #1+#2/2, #1 being the wavelength it is desired that the filter shall pass. In the arrangement shown, the partitions 2 and 6 are provided with slot apertures and their distance apart is adjusted by means passing through a slit 5 in the wave-guide. By placing two such filters in succession in a wave-guide, and tuning them to slightly different wavelengths a bandpass filter is produced.
