Abstract
594,368. Wave-guide filters. COMPAGNIE GENERALE DE TELEGRAPHIE SANS FIL. May 31, 1945, No. 13730. Convention date, Dec. 14, 1943. [Class 40 (iii)] A wave-guide is provided with a variable attenuator which can block a particular frequency. Inside a wave-guide having a rectangular cross-section C and conveying waves of the H01 type is mounted a rectangular frame A which can be rotated through gearing by means of a knob B2 and can be lengthened by turning a screw-threaded shaft L, the sides I, J being telescopic for this purpose and provided with interior springs. For H01 waves the attenuation is zero when the frame is transverse, but for other settings a peak of attenuation is reached for a particular length of the sides I, J, the attenuation being greatest when the frame is parallel to the sides of the waveguide.
