Abstract
624,942. Cycle handle-bars. ALLEN-BOWDEN, Ltd., and BOWDEN, B. G. July 15, 1947, No. 18766. [Class 136 (iii)] In an adjustable handle-bar of the kind which is formed of two portions 17 pivoted at 16 to the upper end of the front fork, each portion having a toothed engagement with the other in order to keep them at the same inclination, each portion ends in a toothed sector 18 and these sectors can be engaged by toothed clamping members 23, 23a to lock the portions at any angle. The member 23a is pressed down by a bolt 25 which is in threaded engagement with a nut 26 mounted in the top of an inverted U-member 20. Pins 21 mounted in the sides of the member 20 pass through slots in the bracket 15, which supports the pivots 16, and are engaged with the block 23, which is thereby pulled up.
