[Class 136 (iii)] In a resilient suspension for the handle-bars of bicycles, the upper part of the stem has a fixed bracket b which acts as a fulcrum for a pivoted bracket c adapted to support the handle-bars at the forward end and to rock under the action of helical springs f, movement being limited upwardly by a flat portion k following a curved portion j of the fixed bracket. As shown, the fixed bracket b is mounted on the handle-bar stem a, a lug of the bracket engages in the bifurcated end of the movable bracket c which can rock about a pivot d in the lug of the bracket b. The handle-bar e is clamped in the split end of the movable bracket c. The helical springs f are connected to hooks on the movable bracket and stem. The brackets can be secured together by a screw g and locked by a hook h.
