Abstract
624,641. Indicating-apparatus. GALL, D.C., and KITSON, W. Nov. 6, 1946, No. 32990. [Class 106 (iv)] [Also in Groups XXXVIII and XL (b)] The temperature of a furnace as sensed by a photo-cell, bolometer, thermocouple or like device is indicated in colour by e.g. a light-spot 8b shining through a coloured screen 8 carried by a galvanometer 6, and graded from orangered to pale yellow, to correspond to the furnace flame colour. The scale may be viewed directly or the spot projected on to a ground-glass screen (Fig. 1, not shown). Alternatively, the galvanometer may reflect a light-spot on to a stationary opaque or translucent screen (Fig. 3, not shown). The lamp 9 is preferably fed from a stabilized voltage supply, and the temperature sensitive device connected to the galvanometer through a suitable amplifier such as that described in Specification 585,419, [Group XL].
