Abstract

801,587. Indicating-apparatus. CROCKATT & SONS, Ltd., W., and CROCKATT, W. C. Dec. 20, 1954, No. 36694/54. Class 106 (4). Indicating - apparatus comprises a pointer 17 carrying a light-transmitting disc 18 moving along a scale 14 towards or away from a predetermined value in accordance with the state of an electrical function being measured and a light source 15 positioned in advance of the predetermined scale value so that when the disc 18 moves across the source 15, light passes therethrough to effect a preliminary visual warning signal of the proximity of the predetermined scale value. The light source may be in the form of an arcuate slot 15 in part of an elongated lamp and the slot may be adjustable lengthwise. The disc 18 may be red or if the slot 15 is covered with a translucent sheet with zones of different colours the colour of the disc 18 is chosen to give suitable combined effects with these colours. The scale 14 may have a translucent or transparent part in place of the slot 15. Specification 698,237, [Group XXXV], is referred to.
