Abstract

883,779. Boundary layer control. ROSEMOUNT ENGINEERING CO. Feb.10, 1960, No. 4678/60. Drawings to Specification. Class 4. [Also in Groups XX and XXXVIII]. In a device for measuring the total temperature of a gas (see Group XXXVIII) a temperature sensitive element is mounted in a duct or in a passage branched therefrom and the duct is provided with holes or is made of a permeable material in order that the boundary layer of gas in contact with the duct and therefore possibly cooled by it should be continuously drawn off and not allowed to build up and mix with the main gas stream.
