796,467. Ingot-moulds. VALLAK, E. Aug. 20, 1956, No. 25352/56. Class 83 (1). A hot-top including combustible or exothermic material, comprises a number of inner ducts, channels or recesses communicating, at least at one end, with the atmosphere, and arranged so as to enable an air-stream to be supplied to and through the inner-portions of said hot-top material, at least one of said ducts &c. being arranged for the supply of air to the inner-portions of the hot-top material and at least one other duct &c. being arranged for the escape of flue-gases from said material. Two recesses 2 in a hot-top plate 1 communicate with each other through a passage 4, air being supplied for combustion through one recess, and excess air and gases escaping through the other.
